I’ve been working as a specialised Simplified Chinese and German to English technical translator since 2017, as an in-house translator, and since 2020 as an independent linguist.
With hundreds of projects and hundreds of thousands of words behind me, you’ll know your translation is in safe hands.
A QUALIFIED TRANSLATION PARTNER
All that experience was built on a solid foundation of education: a BA in Applied Languages and an MA in Translation Studies, including a year of studying abroad split between Germany and China.
But industry and technology never stand still, so I’ve been prioritising regular CPD throughout my career.
As a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, I’m committed to staying up to date with translation best practices and industry trends, and adding new strings to my bow as a linguist (such as plain English editing), so that I can provide you, my clients, with an even more comprehensive service.
TECHNICALLY CREATIVE
I’m a technical specialist, and an interest in the ins and outs of how things work runs in my DNA.
But to produce the best translations that convey all the necessary technical information in a way that sounds natural and meet your English-speaking audience’s expectations, plenty of creativity is called for.
I keep the creative side of my brain whirring away by getting crafty (weaving, quilting and papercutting) and indulging my love for museums, in my home town of Sheffield and further afield.
